Things to do
From its bush and farm field origins. Mill Woods has become much more than a "typical subrub". The model community originally envisioned has become a reality, with major shopping, educational, recreational, and hospital facilities.
With so many young families, it's not surprising that there are 34 schools, including two senior high schools. As well, the Grant MacEwan Community College Campus is located in the heart of MIll Woods. For today's students with a keen interest in science, the growing Edmonton Research Park just west of Mill Woods may offer exciting opportunities for tommorrow.
Mill Woods got its name from the woods of the Mill Creek Ravine which winds through its eastern side. Popular for walks, the Ravine area is just one of many parks throughout Mill Woods. Each neighbourhood has its own recreational area at its core and all enjoy the Mill Woods Recreation Centre which has two skating rinks, squash and racqetball courts, excercise facilities and a wave pool. The Mill Woods Rotary Club Water Park, and a championship calibre 18-hole golf course round out Mill Woods' complete package of excellent facilities.
